A cocktail soo tasty, it got a sequel.

Hollywood is obsessed with making them. But a cocktail with a sequel? It may sound odd yet references to a cocktail known as the Corpse Reviver date back to the late 1880’s. Upon its inception, the concoction mostly referred to a varied group of mixed drinks, generally intended to be “hair of the dog” remedies.
It wasn’t until 1930 that Harry Craddock, an American bartender at the famous Savoy in London, created a sequel, unimaginatively known as the Corpse Reviver #2. This version caught on and is what is most widely mixed when ordered today.
The Corpse Reviver #2 is quite simple to make, yet packs enough of a punch to stimulate the senses. The tangy citrus combination of Absinthe and Lillet connect in such a piquant way that it can “raise the dead,” or so legend has it. Don't be afraid, the drink is actually an herbaceous alternative to the popular Gimlet and worth a try.
